As a child, Daniel Dixon, the son of iconic photographer Dorothea Lange and visionary Southwestern painter Maynard Dixon, came to recognize his parentsí extraordinary gifts, but his view of them changed dramatically during the Depression when he and his younger brother John were 'farmed out' to a series of foster homes, never knowing when they might see their parents again.
